NSCM will secure a property; carry out carry out a health & safety and inventory check. We will issue the YP/A with a Licence Agreement for the property. The Licence Agreement outlines their responsibilities and what is expected of the YP/A whilst living independently, while in the care of NSCM.

NSCM have offices across the country and are able to re-locate a YP/A immediately should the need arise and at short notice, if they are in danger. We are able to move them to different parts of the country via NSCM other offices, where necessary.

NSCM provides good quality one and two bedroom accommodation, in chosen areas and which are safe for them to come and go as they please.

We provide good quality furniture and white goods. A Starter Pack of provisions and sundry household items for each parent and child placement. 

We also provide Baby Package (cot, baby chair, buggy, toys, etc.), Child Safety Pack (safety gate, plug covers, etc.) and a Starter Pack (nappies, wipes, creams, etc.), including a First Aid Kit. 

We will support the YP/A to purchase a TV Licence and help to budget for the following year. We give vouchers on birthdays, at Christmas & other religious ceremonies.

NSCM provides good quality one and two bedroom accommodation, which is furnished appropriately and decorated to a clean, hygienic standard.

We strive to find accommodation for people in areas which are safe for them to come and go as they please.

Our accommodation is inspected weekly for health and safety reasons.

As well as having a Health and Safety Officer in each team, we have a Housing Support Administrator for tenant/landlord liaison.

In addition to this, we have Maintenance Officers attached to each area team who, in cooperation with the landlords, are responsible for the general upkeep and security of accommodation.




My relationship with Next Step or should I say, The staff started in 2006, when I bought a tenanted investment property in South East London.  Taking over the tenancy was the beginning of what I can only describe as a mutually beneficial relationship.  Over the years and tenancies in four of my properties thereafter, NSCM has become my preferred tenants largely on account of the professionalism, friendly but professional disposition, honesty and integrity of its staff.  I believe this must be a reflection of the organisation’s corporate culture.  The staff are responsive – quick to address issues, very responsible and fair-minded in their dealings with me. 

Renting my properties to Next Step gives me the confidence that they will be well taken care of.  They have excellent handymen/trades people, one of whom – a gas engineer, I have taken on to carry out work for me over the years and I have not set my eyes on him!

They pay my rent promptly.  I cannot recollect a late rent payment but I can remember ones paid a few days earlier.

I cannot wish for any other tenant in my property and such a passionate and enthusiastic bunch of people to work with!

Administrator/Placement co-ordinator

K has been working for Next Step for the past 7 years.  Karen has been in employment for the last 20 years and has a variety of skills specialising in budget management and book keeping.

K is the Personal Assistant to the Directors and Manager.  K deals with landlord/maintenance liaison.

Admin Assistant 

With Next Step since 2011, J is responsible for administering petty cash In support of the outreach team, assisting in admin duties to the Directors and Managers.
