Alternative to custody

Next Step Care Management Ltd is offering a real alternative for non violent offenders who make up almost 80% of those Young people, who receive custodial sentences.

The schemes below are designed to reduce the number of young people being taken into custody, and to minimise the risk of those in danger of re-offending.

Our staff will work in close liaison with YOT, Family Intervention teams, the police and other specialised agencies to reverse the trend and support young people to achieve positive outcomes.

We look to help Young People to successfully promote skills to live independently, to explore education, training and employment opportunities, to promote positive non-offending behaviour and local community involvement.

We have liaised and worked with the Metropolitan Police as part of Operation Trident to support vulnerable witnesses. We also have extensive experience of working with young people with substance misuse issues as well as those with mental health problems, (A high proportion of which receive a custodial sentence).

The support undertaken with each young person is in direct correlation with the aims, drawn up with the referring agency and the young person.

Our regular contact reports and verbal updates assist in providing feedback and assessment of the progress of the young people engaged in our programs.
